It's on

Tonight at 12:17 am EST, with my brand new HP Pavilion dv6-1030us, I wrote the first sentence of the book Aimless. It's all downhill from here.

Also, my "sourdough" starter has already begun bubbling a little bit. There's a bit of a sour smell brewing, too.

awesome. that's a killer notebook, and not a bad price, considering the quality. 4gb ram, 320gb hd, 2ghz intel core 2 duo processor, 16" monitor size, for well under $1,000. good job on getting started on your book. more book, less pizza :)

Shit, dawg, I don't know nuthin about computers or specs. All I know is that it's a nice computer that can do what I need it to do (like play porn DVDs), and the disk space isn't gonna be filled up in a couple days just by loading the program that lets you watch YouTube. One big bonus compared to the little laptop I had on the road is that it has a full-size keyboard, which makes it about 300 times easier to type on. Actually, there are a ton of things that make it more useful than the little laptop, and the weight doesn't matter anymore. It's pretty, too.

It was $600 and usually sells for at least $700, I think. (The folks got it for me so I could write the book.) MSRP is $800, I believe.

My only objective last night was to write at least one sentence, just to get started. But I ended up writing about one page (over 500 words), which probably translates to a page and a half of a regular-sized novel-type book.

I'm on my way, man, and I feel good. For the first time in a long time, I feel good. (Except I'm a little sick right now.)
