I just watched (and taped)

I just watched (and taped) a snake as it committed suicide in the road. Don't know what kind of snake; pretty sure it was not venomous.

Wow! When you put up the tape, I'll see if I can identify it. I'm usually pretty good with snake species. He must've had a tough life... poor fella'.

It was a rat snake. I will put up the tape when I get home this fall. No editing required for this one. It'll surely get lots of hits on YouTube because it is very cool and rare.

I feel like a dick for letting the snake get killed. However, I probably couldn't have done anything about it without getting myself hurt or causing an accident. The snake wanted to die; there was no stopping him.

Hey, if that was Jen from Houma: Did I leave an empty tape case in your front seat? If so, would you mind sending it to me? (My address is on the Contact page.)

This was comin' atcha live from New Orleans Public Library in the Lower Ninth Ward.
