I almost never get a chance to sit or sleep in comfort. Not even when I'm riding w/ someone. It's rough, tiring. I need a couple days to relax!!!

I wonder if you'll get used to the types of conditions that you find yourself in while travelling? Maybe, after awhile you'll be able to sleep comfortably no matter where you are? It seems that if you get tired enough that you will crash out just about anytime, anyplace.

Wow, I just re-read this one after all these years. It reminds me of a passage near the beginning of On The Road, which I have alluded to once before, in which he talks about how tiring hitchhiking can be. When I alluded to it before, though, I didn't realize I'd ever said anything like this.

Sometimes you can just crash out anywhere, Jay. It's nice when you can. Other times, though, particularly in places like Florida, you're just screwed, especially if you're desperate to get out of the state. If you put off trying to get a ride just so you can get some shade or rest, then it's easy to end up stuck in one place for a lot longer than you wanted to be there. Being stuck somewhere can be just as bad as being pounded by the sun or being really tired.
