Hey consider this a test. Only you can determine how you decide to feel about something. It goes back to the half empty, half full glass. This is the time to dig deep and focus on the positive things you have done, seen and experienced on this trip. Or you can quit. But on the positive side the choice is all yours. You don't have a boss or anyone for that matter telling you what to do. You only have to answer to you.
Find a pizza place that can use help for a day or two. Make some dough and get a new tent. You'll get some chow that way too. Besides how are you going to get home without a tent along the way. Quitting is not in you.
The person who was critical of you because you didn't identify who got you a train ticket, didn't identify him/herself.
Not that you'll see this, but hang in there. Screw the jerk who was complaining in the other post. It's not what THEY try to make of the experience. It's what YOU make of it. I know it's hard, and most of us respect what you're doing. Dig down, and decide what you really want to do! Hey, you got to be around when OSU whipped up on Washington IN Seattle!
I'm curious what Lew meant in his last comment, but moreso I wanted to chime in about you quitting.
Why, why, why, why, why???
You have come so far! You have overcome many barriers and obstacles! You have experienced so much and have started to share those experiences with others! You have told us all how important it is to stand by your convictions and to go against the grain and to say what you want to say and feel the need to say in the words that you want to use to express yourself! You have rejected the 9 to 5! You have rejected the idea that it is okay for people to be hypocrites! You have recognized the importance of helping people, in order to form and continue to maintain a real community!
Why, now, would you continue to allow the opinions of your critics to drive you to end your quest???
don't quit man, i am sure someone else will come along and help you get a new one.

Can't a broken tent still provide some shelter? The aimless movie just got interesting.
